GUESS was established in 1981 by the Marciano brothers, who left the south of France in pursuit of the American dream. Inspired by a European influence, the Marciano?s redefined denim when it was dated and lacked a fashion edge. The Marciano?s changed the perception of denim by introducing a stonewashed, slim-fitting jean, the 3-zip Marilyn. Bloomingdales was the first department store to welcome the brand by ordering two dozen pairs of jeans. The famous Marilyn jean sold out within hours of their first delivery and it was at that moment the GUESS label was born - marking the beginning of a long success story. GUESS became a symbol of a young, sexy and adventurous lifestyle. Throughout the decades GUESS invited people to dream with its iconic and timeless advertising campaigns and turned unknown faces into famous models and household names. Now over three decades later, GUESS has grown into an international empire of on-trend denim with an emphasis on exceptional washes, fabrics and styling. The brand has also successfully developed a complete line of fashion forward men?s, women?s and kids apparel and accessories including handbags, footwear, watches, eyewear, jewelry, fragrances, belts and small leather goods.
