We're so excited to see you at ComplexCon 2021! Our team is constantly reviewing the ComplexCon health and safety guidelines in accordance with public health recommendations and in collaboration with other event organizers and venue partners. NEW VERIFICATION REQUIREMENT

Everyone will need to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative rapid antigen or PCR lab COVID-19 test to enter ComplexCon.

Everyone entering the Long Beach Convention Center will need to show proof of one of the following at their time of entry:

  • full vaccination against COVID-19; or
  • negative rapid antigen COVID-19 or negative lab PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of entry to the event.

Please note that all restrictions and requirements are subject to change. Please refer to our website often for current guidelines.

    Everyone is required to wear an approved face covering while attending ComplexCon. For more details and requirements about face coverings, please click here.

    Increased Sanitization and Hygiene

    ComplexCon has worked with the Long Beach Convention Center to implement sanitization standards. It is the responsibility of everyone to maintain personal hygiene, including washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

    Reduced Capacity

    In 2021, ComplexCon will have reduced capacity from prior years - attendance and badges will be very limited and we are working closely with the venue to determine how many people are permitted in the building each day and at a given time.

    We have adjusted our layout and implemented exhibitor recommendations with capacity management and physical distancing in mind. Please follow all floor, directional and distance markings and signage.

    Operational adjustments may occur throughout the event in order to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. Please adhere to all signage and direction from all staff.

Health & Safety Acknowledgement

Please ensure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to the United States and for travel to California and Long Beach. Visit the https://covid19.ca.gov/travel/ for more information.

Please be advised that a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any event or public space, including ComplexCon. Prior to purchasing a ticket/badge for and attending ComplexCon, please ensure you have read the latest CDC Guidelines for Prevention.

By attending ComplexCon, you acknowledge this inherent risk and, as a condition of entering ComplexCon, you acknowledge, understand and confirm each of the following in accordance with applicable health guidelines:

  • You and/or any Minor over the age of 13 for which you serve as a Guardian will activate your Badge and/or any Minor over the age of 13 for which you serve as a Guardian’s badge prior to entering the Event;
  • You and/or any Minor for which you serve as a Guardian will abide by all ComplexCon health-and-safety requirements;
  • You and/or any Minor for which you serve as a Guardian are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19, as identified at CDC.gov, including, but not limited to:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • Prior to attending ComplexCon you have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine; and
  • You and/or any Minor for which you serve as a Guardian are not under any self-quarantine orders;
  • You are either:
    • Fully vaccinated, meaning at the time you are attending the Event it has been at least fourteen (14) days since:
      • your second dose in a 2-dose COVID-19 vaccine series authorized by the FDA or by the WHO, such as the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines, or
      • your single dose of a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the FDA or by the WHO, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine; OR
    • You have received a negative COVID-19 test, and that and you will provide evidence of such negative COVID-19 test to Event management prior to entering the Event.

All FULLY VACCINATED attendees MUST provide each of the following to Management prior to entry into the Event:

  • a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport; and
  • proof of vaccination directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination (whether a physical copy or on a smartphone)

For purposes of this acknowledgement, a “Minor” means any individual who is under eighteen (18) years of age or has not reached the age of majority as defined by such individual’s jurisdiction of residence, and a “Guardian” means such Minor’s parent or legal guardian or other individual attending ComplexCon who is over the age of eighteen (18) and acting in loco parentis for such Minor.

Please do not enter ComplexCon or Long Beach Convention Center if you cannot confirm all of the above criteria. If at any point during your time at ComplexCon you do not meet all of the above criteria, you will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave Long Beach Convention Center at the sole discretion of event management.

Please note: The guidelines in this document are based on information currently available regarding the behavior and characteristics of the COVID-19 virus, public health information and local or state guidelines with respect to large gatherings in any particular community. As more clarity with respect to these variables emerges, it is expected that these guidelines may need to be adjusted accordingly

Testing FAQs

What do I need to provide to show proof of vaccination?

Attendees will be asked to show proof of full vaccination on their smartphone or through a physical copy, along with an appropriate ID matching the name on the documentation.

For all attendees, your documentation needs to be directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination, and you can display your proof on your smartphone or present a physical copy.

All attendees must also present a government-issued ID such as driver’s license or passport. Those younger than 18 may use a government-issued ID, birth certificate, social security card, school ID, or locally-issued ID.

What does “full” vaccination mean?

“Fully vaccinated” means by the date of the event you are attending must be:

  • at least 14 days after your second dose of an FDA approved or FDA or WHO authorized two dose COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • at least 14 days after your single dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.
What COVID-19 vaccinations will be accepted at ComplexCon?

ComplexCon will accept valid proof of Full Vaccination with:

  • Any COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
    • Pfizer/BioNTech
    • Moderna
    • Johnson & Johnson/Jansen
  • Any COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO)
    • AstraZeneca/Oxford
    • Sinopharm-BBIBP
    • Sinovac
    • Covishield
  • Any active COVID-19 vaccine used during a U.S.-based clinical trial
    • Novavax

All other COVID-19 vaccines, including Sputnik V, Sputnik Light, Covaxin, and Sinopharm-WIBP are not acceptable.

We will also accept mixed COVID-19 vaccine schedules of WHO-authorized vaccines to establish Full Vaccination status.

Can I attend ComplexCon by showing proof of a negative COVID-19 test?
Everyone who attends ComplexCon is required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The COVID-19 diagnostic test must be completed within the specified timeframe (no longer than 72 hours from when the test is administered until it can be verified) before entry to the Long Beach Convention Center. Please be prepared to provide printed, timestamped, proof of negative test results from the healthcare provider that administered the test.
What information about a negative test needs to be provided to enter ComplexCon?
Please be prepared to provide printed, timestamped, proof of negative test results from the healthcare provider that administered the test. The negative test must be taken within 72 hours of arrival at the show.
How do I provide proof of negative test?

Test results should be brought to the Health Check Center for verification and to obtain your wristbands. The Health Check Center is located outside the Convention Center at the corner of Pine Ave & Seaside Way.

Test results MUST come from the healthcare provider that performed the test. Please bring printed results. The test results must be timestamped and show proof of a negative molecular lab (PCR, NAAT, TMA) or rapid antigen COVID-19 diagnostic test. The timestamp must be NO MORE THAN 72 hours prior to presentation of the test result at our Vaccine Check Locations.

Is a rapid antigen test ok?
Yes, provided, however, that the rapid antigen test results must be provided by the healthcare provider that performed the test and timestamped NO MORE THAN 72 HOURS PRIOR TO ENTRY TO COMPLEXCON.
Can I use a rapid home test to prove negative results?
No. All results must be provided by a healthcare provider/independent lab with a timestamp that falls within the valid timeframe.
I received negative test results via email – can I just show the email with the timestamp?
The process of verification will be much faster if you print the negative test results but we will accept email verification with timestamp at our discretion.
What is the closest testing site to ComplexCon?
There are limited testing locations around the Long Beach Convention Center. Please see Covid-19 Testing (longbeach.gov) for more information. Please note that the turnaround time for a Molecular/PCR test is typically 1-2 days.
What is the attendee refund policy if I am unable to attend due to COVID-19?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer badge/ticket refunds. You can review our full ticket terms and conditions here. Please ensure you are free from COVID-19 symptoms prior to traveling.
What is the refund policy in the event of a ComplexCon cancellation?
While we’re actively planning for an unforgettable ComplexCon reunion this November, we will always prioritize health and safety above all else. In the event of a cancellation by event organizers due to COVID-19, ComplexCon 2021 ticket holders will have the option to transfer their tickets to the next scheduled ComplexCon or receive a refund. Refunds will not be issued if a ticket holder chooses not to show by their own volition.
Am I required to wear a face covering at ComplexCon?
Everyone attending ComplexCon is required to wear an approved face covering. Additional details and guidelines on acceptable face coverings can be found here.
What if I am unable to wear an approved face covering due to a disability?
Approved face coverings are required to be worn by all attendees. To request an accommodation or for additional questions regarding accessibility, please e-mail us.
What additional health and safety measures are in place at ComplexCon?

ComplexCon show management partners closely with the venue, local, state, and federal health authorities to maintain a robust operational plan designed to maximize the health and safety of everyone. These Include:

  • Verification that all attendees shown evidence of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test
  • Strict Compliance with Code of Conduct (including Signage and Staff Guidance)
  • Increased Sanitization and Hygiene - trash will be removed from the exhibit halls with greater frequency
  • Designated entrance and exit points to the event floor
  • Directional and Distance Markings
  • Increased staff and security to provide the BEST customer service and information accessibility

The Long Beach Convention Center maintains an extensive health & safety plan for all events, including ComplexCon.

The Long Beach Convention Center is proud to have received GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation in recognition of enhanced venue health and safety measures. Established by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association) the GBAC STAR™ program establishes requirements to support venue work practices, protocols, procedures, and systems that minimize risks associated with infectious agents such as COVID-19

How are the health and safety measures at ComplexCon being enforced?
Everyone is expected to fully comply with all health and safety guidelines. Acknowledging the guidelines and agreeing to comply is a requirement of entry (See the Health & Safety Acknowledgement above). ComplexCon will have specially designated Safety Ambassadors available to ensure all guidelines are being followed.
What additional security measures and policies are in effect at ComplexCon?

I’m exhibiting at ComplexCon – what best practices and recommendations should I follow?

ComplexCon has adopted several exhibitor best practices based on industry standards. By taking advantage of these recommendations, your organization will help ensure a safer experience for all attendees and customers. Please note that these recommendations may be revised and supplemented to ensure compliance with state, local and venue requirements. The Exhibitor Manual will be updated periodically to provide clear guidance on recommendations and requirements for Exhibitors.

  • Space Layout & Design: Keep physical distancing in mind when creating your booth layout - maximize physical distance between exhibitor staff and visitors to the extent possible
  • Hand Sanitizer: Ensure availability of hand sanitizer at all booths
  • Throughput: Control the scale, size and timing of meetings or gatherings within your space; avoid creating crowds
  • Reduce Contact: Consider touchless (electronic and digital) alternatives to engagement, collateral material and giveaways
  • Signage: Incorporate signage promoting health and safety best practices
  • Increased Cleaning: Plan for cleaning of spaces and surfaces throughout the day; regularly sanitize surfaces and items with appropriate

How to Get Into ComplexCon

In accordance with state and local law and the requirements of the Long Beach Convention Center, ComplexCon requires all attendees, exhibitors, media, guests, and show management staff to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test.

“Full vaccination” means that your date of entry to ComplexCon is at least 14 days after your final dose of an FDA/WHO approved or authorized vaccine. For our full FDA/WHO approved/authorized vaccine list, please refer to the above question “What COVID-19 vaccinations will be accepted at ComplexCon?”.

So . . . how do I get into ComplexCon?

To enter the Long Beach Convention Center or pick up your badges at Will Call, you will need a Health Check wristband first to indicate that you have verified your vaccination or testing status.

We have an outside Health Check Center at the corner of Pine Avene and Seaside Way, before you reach the Will Call entrance for ComplexCon. This will make it quick and easy for you to verify your vaccination or testing status and receive your Event wristband.

Your Health Check wristband will confirm that your vaccination has been checked and will be valid for all the days you’re attending our event.

Step 1:

Attendees can provide proof of vaccination using one of the following approved methods on-site at ComplexCon:

  • A Government Issued Vaccination Record (paper or photo)

Step 2:

Go to the Health Check Center at the corner of Pine Ave & Seaside Way to show your information and receive your Health Check wristband. Please keep it on for all the days you’ll be joining us, so that you don’t need to re-verify your vaccination credentials.

Step 3:

Head over to Will Call and pick up your Event wristband to enter ComplexCon.

Note: You will not be able to pick up your Event wristband without visiting the Health Check Center - You must do that step first.

If you already have your badge or Event wristband, head to the front of the LBCC (off Pine Ave) to enter the appropriate queue line for Entry. ComplexCon staff will be there to help direct you.

On-Site Manual Validation Process

At our Health Check Center, you will present a government-issued photo ID and an approved vaccination record demonstrating proof of Full Vaccination with an authorized or approved vaccine or proof of a negative lab PCR or Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test.

Attendees can provide proof of full vaccination using one of the following approved methods on-site at ComplexCon:

  • A Government Issued Vaccination Record (paper or photo)

Attendees can provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test by provided one of the following on-site at ComplexCon:

  • A negative lab PCR or Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of entry to the event.

Upon verification of your Health Check status, you will receive a Health Check wristband which must be worn for the duration of the event.

You will only need to complete the vaccination check process once, provided you keep your Health Check wristband on for the duration of the event.
